Play Under The Oceans

How to raise awareness among tennis fans about plastic pollution while offering them a unique immersive and educational experience?

Communication

Strategic challenges:

adidas continues its environmental commitment with its End Plastic Waste program and its global challenge Run For The Oceans, which mobilizes the public against plastic pollution. In 2022, the French edition coincides with Roland-Garros. While not a partner of the tournament, Adidas aims to use this opportunity to reach a new audience: tennis enthusiasts.

Response:

We designed a unique immersive experience: a tennis court perched on a Haussmannian building, transformed into an underwater world through spectacular mapping and realistic sound immersion.

An educational impact

More than just a sports challenge, the event also had an educational dimension: a marine biologist was present to raise awareness among participants about the dangers of plastic in the oceans. Schools from the Paris region were invited to engage with him before playing under the oceans.

Committed players

The initiative also engaged renowned professional players (Tsitsipas, Mladenovic, Auger-Aliassime, Thiem, Tsonga…) who shared their experience with their millions of followers.

Result: thousands of registrations, massive media coverage, and an engaging message that strengthens Adidas as an innovative and committed brand.
